Family & Relationship Skills and Training

Centacare’s education programs aim to assist people to develop skills that foster positive relationships. Our programs cover relationships with children, partners, ex-partners, and other family members. We offer workshops and group programs on parenting babies, toddlers, tweens, and teens, as well as parenting after separation. We also offer women’s and men’s self-esteem programs, separation recovery groups, and positive communication programs.

Pre-Marriage Education

Centacare’s Preparing for Marriage programs offer an opportunity for engaged couples to strengthen their communication skills and explore together the essential ingredients for creating and maintaining a long lasting and satisfying marriage. We welcome couples of all types and backgrounds, and work in a welcoming and interactive way to help each couple prepare for their life together.

Student Placements

Centacare is committed to regional Victoria and its people. Every year we play a part in training students, and in turn creating employment opportunities flowing from fieldwork experiences for students as they graduate. Our partnerships with the University of Ballarat, Australian Catholic University and Cambridge International College, together with the breadth of services and experience of our staff makes Centacare a sought after student training centre.

Building our Workforce - Employee Training and Development

Centacare is committed to staff training and development. Our performance development policy and procedures is based on developing the knowledge, skills and experiences of our employees to better meet the mission of Centacare.
We are currently rolling-out a new induction program for all existing and new staff. The induction program will have an intensive phase which will guide new employees thought specific learning and exposure to the Agency as well as formulating a training plan that will be put into practice over the first 12 months of your employment with us.
Centacare partners with a number of organisations to deliver its services. From time to time there are opportunities to be seconded to agencies other than Centacare and these will be advertised as they become available.
