Parenting Assessment & Skills Development Worker

 

0.5 EFT - 12 Month Contract Role

Centacare, Catholic Diocese of Ballarat Inc is a social welfare agency committed to providing support services within the communities in which it operates. Centacare delivers a range of programs and services to families and individuals throughout Western Victoria.

 

The Parenting Assessment & Skills Development Worker's role is to provide a direct support to families to assist them in achieving outcomes of the Placement Prevention Family Plan. The role will include conducting parenting assessments and providing outreach and support for a child focus family within the family home. The role will also include assisting the family to identify relevant community support networks and prepare goals and plans for the children’s best interests.

 

To be successful in this role you will have tertiary qualifications in social or community services, knowledge of relevant legislative frameworks and experience undertaking parenting assessments and working within a similar role.

The Interview
Behavioural Based Interviewing -
Centacare has adopted behavioural based interview questions. Behaviour based interviewing requires that the prospective employee answers questions in relation to an experience that he/she has already had therefore they should be based on what you have done rather than what you think that you might do in a situation you have not yet experienced. Prospective employees should prepare to answer questions in the following manner: What was the situation? How did you respond? What was the outcome?
