Respite

Respite

Centacare respite service is a community based service working to support relationships between people with a psychiatric illness and their carers. We recognise that people in relationships can benefit from “time out” from each other and their usual routines. This time can be used for having a break, relaxing or trying something different. Respite by its nature is a temporary break. The service provides planned individualised breaks tailored to meet each individuals needs.

The service is available to people who:

  • Have a psychiatric illness and who receive support from a carer who would benefit from some time away from their caring role.
