Centacare is:

Building stronger communities.

Centacare deliver an extensive range of social welfare and outreach services across the Catholic Diocese of Ballarat and the Western District of Victoria. We provide services that support individuals, families and communities empowering people to bring about positive change while building community capacity.

Established in 1977 the Catholic Diocese of Ballarat opened Ballarat Diocesan Family Services Inc to provide social welfare and outreach services on behalf of the Ballarat Diocese.

In 1997 the organisation formally changed name to Centacare Catholic Diocese of Ballarat Inc. This reflected the organisations ties to the network of social welfare agencies across Australia who deliver social outreach services on behalf of the Catholic community. In 2016 the organisations structure changed to a company limited by guarantee.

With over 35 years’ experience Centacare continue to support those in need with counselling, employment, housing, family services, advocacy and outreach.

Centacare works in partnership with Federal and State governments, fellow welfare agencies, funding bodies and the greater community to deliver professional and responsive services.
