An ecumenical welcome by Bishops for homelessness deliberations

‘A Place to Call Home – Making a Home for Everyone in Our Land’ was the named statement of discussion on Tuesday the 25th September with local homelessness ambassadors meeting with Bishop, Paul Bird and Fr. Constantine to discuss the important matter.

Centacare, Catholic Diocese of Ballarat, CEO Tony Fitzgerald was amongst the meeting to discuss the ongoing concern for homelessness in Ballarat. The underlying concern for the welfare of Ballarat individuals and future prevention of homelessness was amongst many topics raised.

Centacare offer a range of services to assist the homeless community in Ballarat including Peplow House, a short term crisis accommodation for single men aged 18 and over, along with short to long term case management for those at risk of homelessness throughout supporting individuals with access to secure sustainable accommodation.

For those experiencing hardship or homelessness, the Centacare Homelessness and Advocacy team are located at 4-6 Peel Street Ballarat.
