FAMILY MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT SERVICE
A flexible and responsive support service for children and young people at risk of or affected by mental illness.
Working alongside families our Case Managers work with children and young people to develop achievable goals and strategies that minimise the impacts of poor mental health outcomes into the future.
Engagement with this service will involve an initial assessment which allows either a long term intensive support plan (up to 12 months) or a short term immediate support plan to be implemented. We work with children or the young person at home, in school or the wider community.
By working with children, young people and families we identify what supports may be needed, these may include:
- Referrals for individuals, family members or the whole family
- Help building communication
- Assistance with parenting strategies and family routines
