MENTAL HEALTH PLANNED RESPITE
Available to people with a mental illness receiving support from a carer who may benefit from time away from their caring role. Planned respite provides a short-term change of environment for the person with a mental illness and a break for their carers.
Planned Respite supports the relationship between the person with a mental illness and their carers by providing planned respite. Carers may be a parent, spouse, other family member, close friend or house mate aged 16 – 64 years.
Respite options can include:
- Day activities including social and recreational opportunities
- In-home support
- Holiday activities
- Skills development and linkage to courses

Individuals, carers, family members, community service organisations and health professionals can make a referral into this program. To lodge a referral please use the referral form in the resources section below.
Once a referral has been received one of our Respite Team members will contact the individual to discuss how this service can assist.
