MENTAL HEALTH RESPITE CARER SUPPORT PROGRAM
Respite options for carers of people with a mental illness to support their relationship through respite and support options that suit an individual’s needs.
Carers support is provided through education, advocacy and social or recreational options for carers who look after a family member or friend with a mental illness.
Support options may include:
- Offering a carer support and information
- Referrals for support services
Engagement with this service will involve a consultation and discussion with the carer and the care recipient to allow an assessment of each individual’s needs and development of a plan to achieve these goals.
